About The Artist
Dana Lynn Gibson is a Los Angeles-based artist whose work lives at the intersection of design, emotion, and image. Her visual style is unapologetically bold—pulling from film, print, sub and pop culture to create pieces that are both nostalgic and electric. Being raised in the San Fernando Valley, Dana’s creative voice is also shaped by her environment. Her compositions often echo the rhythm of the city: the collision of nostalgia and modernity, beauty and decay, chaos and control. Through contrast, texture, and tension, she builds tantalizing visuals that don’t just sit on the surface. It’s less about decoration and more about impact.
Beyond the art studio, Dana holds a Master’s degree in History from California State University, Los Angeles, with emphasis on California, Public, and Modern Mexico. Her work as a historian stands on its own—driven by the same intellectual rigor that defines her art. This duality of being both an artist and historian gives her the rare ability to see both the surface and the intriguing nuance beneath it. Dana is also currently pursuing additional AA’s in Art History, Studio Art, and Graphic Design. Dana continues to expand and strengthen her technical fluency and visual language to evolve her practice in multidisciplinary bodies of work.
At the core of her work is transformation—of self, of space, of perception. Her art mirrors the process of becoming: confident, raw, and intentional.
